I directed and managed all HR functions at three retail stores and two separate warehouse facilities that employed a total of 440 employees. I developed and organized an HR Team that was responsible for strategic planning, the implementation of training and development programs, payroll, safety programs,
warehouse security, workman’s compensation, recruiting and hiring. I participated in contract negotiations, developed hourly non-union pay ranges,
conducting sound union relations (including grievance resolution), and developed job descriptions. I oversaw the implementation of the 401K program,
employee benefits, and the company car program.
1995 - 1997 - Quality Markets
Director of Human Resource
I directed and managed a team of 5 HR professionals that performed all HR functions for forty seven retail stores and one distribution center. I was responsible for all HR functions in regards to 3,800 employees. I worked closely with general management and store operations to resolve problems and identify the needs of the business. I provided educational and career counseling. I was responsible for maintaining positive employee relations and conducted sound union relations with eight U.F.C.W. Business Agents. I participated in contract negotiations, oversaw the administration of grievance procedures and the implementation of seven union contracts.

Store Manager
I was responsible for all areas of management in relationship to increasing customer service levels, improving sales and gross profits. I was responsible for employee relations, hiring, training and development. I conducted employee counseling, discipline and maintained a positive union relationship with the union stewards. I was responsible for controlling inventory levels, stock rotation, payroll expenses, cash flow and payroll forecasting. I was also responsible for overseeing quality control, pricing accuracy, store security and housekeeping/sanitation.
